Turkish para swimmers wrapped up the Para Swimming World Series in Italy with a total of 10 medals across open age and youth categories, according to the Turkish Swimming Federation.
The competition took place in the coastal city of Lignano Sabbiadoro and brought together athletes from 35 countries. Representing Türkiye in both senior and youth divisions, the national teams delivered a strong performance that placed them among the leading delegations at the event.
On the final day of competition, Turkish swimmer Sevilay Ozturk secured a gold medal in the women's open age 50 meter butterfly final. She finished the race with a time of 44.06 seconds, topping the podium and adding to Türkiye’s medal tally in the senior category.
Meanwhile, Baran Doruk Simsek also stepped onto the podium in the men's 50 meter butterfly final. Competing in the youth classification, he finished second with a time of 36.54 seconds and earned a silver medal.
Over the course of the competition, the Turkish open age national team collected six medals in total, including four gold and two silver.
The youth national team also performed strongly and ended the event with four medals, consisting of three gold and one silver.
Together, these results brought Türkiye’s total medal count at the event to ten.
The results also translated into strong placements in the overall country rankings.
In the open age category, Türkiye finished second among participating nations, reflecting the success of its senior swimmers at the event. In the youth division, the national team placed fourth.
