Türkiye’s national wrestling team delivered an impressive performance at the U23 European Wrestling Championships in Zrenjanin, Serbia, securing a total of four medals, comprising two silver and two bronze.
In the freestyle 92 kg category, Fatih Altunbas advanced to the final but was defeated by Azerbaijan’s Ali M. Tcokaev, earning the silver medal. Ahmet Yagan, competing in the 86 kg category, narrowly lost 2‑1 to Russian athlete Bozigit Islamgereev in the final, also claiming silver.
Bronze medals were captured by Tolga Ozbek in the 61 kg freestyle division, who defeated Moldovan wrestler Vasile Marcu 2‑1, and by Hakan Buyukcingil in the 125 kg category, who overcame Georgian competitor Aleksandre Abramishvili with a 14‑4 technical score.
