In its second Group A match of the 2025 European Basketball Championship (EuroBasket 2025), Türkiye defeated Czechia 92-78 on Friday.
With the win, the Turkish national team improved to 2-0, while Czechia dropped its second match.
Czechia started strongly in the first quarter, making six three-pointers and building an eight-point lead at one point. Türkiye stayed competitive under the rim with Alperen Sengun and Ercan Osmani but trailed 27-21 after the opening period.
Türkiye responded in the second quarter with a 14-0 run, taking a 35-28 lead in the 16th minute. The crescent-and-star team maintained its advantage to lead 45-37 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Czechia attempted to close the gap with outside shooting, but Türkiye extended its lead thanks to scoring from Cedi Osman, finishing the period 72-62 ahead.
Alperen Sengun’s strong performance in the fourth quarter stretched Türkiye’s lead to as much as 18 points, sealing a 92-78 victory.
Sengun, Osman, and Osmani combined for 60 points. Sengun finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Türkiye will face Portugal in its third Group A match on Saturday.
