Türkiye closed the 2026 European Para Swimming Championship with 16 medals, nine gold and seven silver, at the Gebze Olympic Swimming Pool. Gebze is a district of Kocaeli province roughly 40 kilometers (25 miles) east of Istanbul, on Türkiye's northwestern Marmara coast.
Nine Turkish athletes competed on the event's fifth and final day.
Defne Kurt won the women's 100-meter freestyle S10 final in 59.37 seconds, taking her fifth gold medal of the championship. She became the first Turkish athlete to win five gold medals at a single European Championship.
Turgut Aslan Yaraman won gold in the men's 200-meter individual medley SM8 final, finishing in 2 minutes 24.13 seconds.
Umut Unlu took silver in the men's 200-meter freestyle S3 final with a time of 3 minutes 22.30 seconds, the last medal of the championship for Türkiye.
Russia finished first in the overall medal table with 33 gold, 39 silver and 20 bronze medals. Italy placed second with 29 gold, 16 silver and 16 bronze. Ukraine finished third with 25 gold, 25 silver and 23 bronze.
