Baskent Amputee Football Club secured the inaugural Amputee Football European League title after edging past Slask Wroclaw 2-1 in the final held in Ankara on April 25, marking a milestone moment for the competition.
The match, played at Etimesgut Municipality Ataturk Stadium, quickly picked up pace as Baskent moved ahead in the fourth minute. Omer Guleryuz opened the scoring, giving the home side an early advantage and setting the tone for a tightly contested final.
However, the lead did not last long. Slask Wroclaw responded almost immediately, leveling the score just a minute later through Lukasz Mazurowski. The rapid exchange of goals underlined the intensity of the encounter and kept the outcome finely balanced.
As the match unfolded, Baskent continued to press forward, and Guleryuz once again stepped up to make the difference. He found the net in the 19th minute, restoring his side’s lead and ultimately securing the 2-1 victory.
The Turkish side managed to hold on to their advantage for the remainder of the match, closing out the final with a disciplined performance.
