Türkiye's national women's volleyball team will take on Canada in the quarterfinals of the 2026 Volleyball Nations League after wrapping up the three-week league stage in fourth place.
Known in Türkiye as the Sultans of the Net, the team finished the opening stage with nine victories and 25 points. Canada followed closely behind in fifth place after picking up eight wins and 24 points.
The quarterfinal matches will be played in China's Macao Special Administrative Region on July 22-23.
Should Türkiye knock out Canada, the team will go up against the winner of the United States-China quarterfinal in the last four.
The remaining quarterfinal matchups will bring together Italy and the Netherlands, while Brazil will take on Japan.
Türkiye headed into its final match against Thailand having already secured a place in the knockout stage and went on to claim a 3-1 victory.
The team had booked its finals spot one day earlier by beating host nation Japan by the same score.
The Volleyball Nations League, commonly known as the VNL, is an annual international competition organized by the International Volleyball Federation, or FIVB, bringing together leading men's and women's national teams.
Launched in 2018, the tournament allows national teams to test themselves against high-level opponents ahead of major events, while its results also contribute to the world rankings.
