At the peak of his powers with Galatasaray, 27-year-old striker Victor Osimhen is once again making headlines in the European transfer market. According to Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich is considering the Nigerian international as a potential long-term solution in attack, especially as striker Harry Kane’s age advances.
Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany reportedly admires Osimhen and sees him as a cornerstone for the club’s forward line. Kompany is said to remember the Nigerian’s explosive start in Belgium with Charleroi and his successful spell at Lille, and Bayern management is preparing for Kane’s eventual departure.
Osimhen was signed by Galatasaray last summer for €75 million following a successful loan period and is contracted until 2029. Club officials are reportedly keen to retain him, valuing him at around €150 million.
Osimhen has been in sensational form this season, scoring 17 goals and providing 6 assists in 25 appearances across all competitions. In the league, he has 10 goals in 17 matches, while in the UEFA Champions League he has 7 goals in 8 appearances, including a decisive goal that helped eliminate Juventus.
Also in the report indicated that, Osimhen is well-known to Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Luis Campos, a move to PSG is reportedly unlikely due to his high salary (€20 million net per year) and Galatasaray’s steep valuation. Major clubs such as Manchester United, Juventus, and Atletico Madrid have not made recent offers.
Meanwhile, Saudi clubs remain interested, but Osimhen has reportedly declined such moves, prioritizing his career in Europe.
