Career record lifts Sonmez into new territory

Sonmez, already the highest-ranked Turkish tennis player in the world, strengthened that status by moving up to 48th place.

Her rise also made her the first Turkish tennis player to enter the top 50 in the women's world rankings.

The result stands out as a historic moment for Turkish tennis, as Sonmez pushed her career record further and set a new benchmark for players representing Türkiye on the WTA tour.
