Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 88 suspects have been arrested during the ongoing "GURZ-15" operations against the terrorist organization Daesh, carried out over the past five days across 23 provinces.
In a statement shared on his social media account, Yerlikaya mentioned that the operations were coordinated by the General Directorate of Security’s Intelligence Department and the Counterterrorism Department, in collaboration with provincial police departments.
The operation was carried out in 23 provinces including, Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bingol, Bursa, Corum, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Eskisehir, Hatay, Istanbul, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, Kirsehir, Kilis, Kocaeli, Konya, Manisa, Ordu, Sakarya, Siirt, Sivas, and Tekirdag.
Emphasizing their determination not to allow any terrorist group to operate, Yerlikaya added, "We will continue the fight, with the support until the last terrorist is eliminated." He concluded by praising the prosecutors coordinating the operations and the heroic police officers conducting them, wishing them safety and success in their mission.
