Dilan Polat, the controversial Turkish influencer in Türkiye detained since November on charges of money laundering and tax evasion, who has been in the spotlight recently due to health issues is released from detention.

Her release was confirmed by her mother, while her husband, Engin Polat, remains in custody.

The couple, known for their lavish social media presence, faced detention alongside three other defendants. On Nov. 1, 2023, 17 people, including Dilan Polat and her husband Engin Polat, were detained in an operation organized in six provinces centered in Istanbul.

An appeal filed by the defense attorneys for Dilan Polat, Engin Polat, and the other defendants was rejected on July 19 by the Anadolu 4th Heavy Penal Court.

The court’s decision allows Dilan Polat to be tried without detention, but Engin Polat’s detention continues as the trial for their alleged money laundering charges proceeds.
