Erdogan assured that Türkiye stands by Iran and shares the grief of the Iranian people. He pledges to continue the bond of neighborliness and brotherhood in the future.
The Turkish president also highlighted Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian’s contributions to the relationship between the two countries.
Emergency rescue teams were dispatched to the mountainous region in Iran’s northwestern East Azerbaijan province, where the incident occurred on Sunday afternoon.
Following a night-long search operation hindered by bad weather, Raisi, Amir-Abdollahian, and other officials are confirmed dead.
Per the Iranian Constitution, Mohammad Mokhber, the first vice president, will assume the presidency’s powers, with elections scheduled within 50 days.
