Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez emphasized the need to improve relations with Türkiye during the final day of the 9th Conference of Ambassadors of Spain on Tuesday.

Sanchez, while addressing the ambassadors, stressed that the European Union (EU) must strengthen itself against reactionary forces seeking to undermine it.

He reaffirmed that Spain's EU membership is one of the greatest milestones in the country's history, pledging to work for a greener, fairer, and more equal EU.

Further dialogue with Middle East

"Relations with Türkiye should be further improved," Sanchez stated, underlining the importance of advancing dialogue with Middle Eastern nations.

In addition to Türkiye, Sanchez highlighted the importance of bolstering ties with the U.S. and China, supporting multilateralism, and defending democracy against hybrid attacks and disinformation.

He also expressed concern over the erosion of international law and the deteriorating state of human rights worldwide.
