Top PKK ringleaders killed in eastern Türkiye during Bozdogan-45 operation
Two leaders of the PKK terrorist group, including one listed in the red category of Türkiye’s most wanted, were killed in eastern Türkiye, according to the country’s interior minister on Monday.
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that Sultan Dag, codenamed Beritan Amara, who was wanted in the red category, and Zeynep Nibat, codenamed Zeynep Cudi, were killed in Operation Bozdogan-45 in the rural area of Batman province. These individuals were involved in nine terror acts resulting in the deaths of six security personnel and injuries to 19 others.
Yerlikaya also noted that in the past nine days, a total of 11 terrorists have been killed by the gendarmerie, including two in the red category, four in the orange category, and two in the gray category.
Türkiye’s wanted list is color-coded into five categories, with red indicating the most wanted, followed by blue, green, orange, and gray.
The PKK, recognized as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S., and the E.U., has been responsible for over 40,000 deaths, including women, children, and infants, during its nearly 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye.
