The Ministry of National Defense announced that 16 terrorists were eliminated in operations conducted in the regions of Asos, Hakurk, Gara and the Euphrates Shield area in Syria.
In a statement shared on social media, the ministry emphasized the Turkish Armed Forces continue their anti-terrorism efforts without interruption.
The statement included the following details: "Our heroic Turkish Armed Forces have eliminated 11 PKK terrorists detected in the Asos, Hakurk and Gara regions in northern Iraq and five PKK/YPG terrorists identified in the Euphrates Shield region in northern Syria."
"Our operations will continue resolutely until there are no terrorists left in the area," the statement added.
Listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the U.S. and the EU, the PKK is responsible for over 40,000 deaths in its nearly 40-year campaign of terror against Türkiye.
The YPG is the PKK's extension in Syria.
