Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held their first in-person meeting on the sidelines of the 61st Munich Security Conference on Friday, marking a diplomatic milestone following their initial telephone conversation in January.
The meeting comes amid a series of diplomatic engagements by Fidan, who also held separate talks with German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock and British Foreign Minister David Lammy at the conference.

During his meeting with German counterpart Baerbock, Fidan discussed Türkiye-EU relations and Türkiye's diplomatic efforts regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, emphasizing the urgency for a lasting ceasefire. The talks also covered Syria's territorial integrity.

In separate discussions with British Foreign Minister Lammy, the agenda encompassed bilateral cooperation, global security matters, and energy issues.
