Türkiye's operations target PKK/YPG terrorist organization, 40 suspects detained

In a series of coordinated operations dubbed "Gurz-30," Turkish authorities detained 40 suspects linked to the PKK/YPG terrorist organization.

The operations, carried out across 19 provinces, were announced by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya via social media.

Scope of Gurz-30 operations

Provinces involved: Adiyaman, Agri, Antalya, Ardahan, Aydin, Burdur, Diyarbakir, Hatay, Kahramanmaras, Kars, Kilis, Manisa, Mersin, Mugla, Siirt, Sanliurfa, Sirnak, Tekirdag, and Van.
Coordinating forces: Turkish gendarmerie teams led the operations under the coordination of regional public prosecutors.
Objective: To target individuals suspected of financing, promoting, or participating in PKK/YPG activities.

Seizures made during operations

Authorities reported the seizure of:

Unlicensed firearms
Hunting rifles
Large quantities of illegal drugs
Organizational documents
Digital materials linked to PKK/YPG propaganda

Legal proceedings initiated

The detained suspects face allegations including:

Membership in a terrorist organization
Participation in the group's youth structure
Financing terrorism
Spreading terrorist propaganda via social media

Legal actions have been initiated, and investigations are ongoing under the supervision of public prosecutors.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya praised the efforts of the public prosecutors and the gendarmerie teams involved in the operations.

"We continue our struggle with determination until the last terrorist is neutralized for the peace, unity and solidarity of our nation." Yerlikaya said.
