Uzbekistan has become the latest country to acquire Türkiye's Anka unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) following an agreement with Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI).
The deliveries are expected to begin soon, according to reports.
Türkiye continues to strengthen its presence in the global defense sector, particularly in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
According to a report, TAI has signed a contract with Uzbekistan for the sale of Anka drones.
With this agreement, Uzbekistan joins a growing list of Anka operators, including Algeria, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Chad. Meanwhile, the Turkish Armed Forces, Gendarmerie General Command and other special units actively use both the Anka and Aksungur drones domestically.
Anka is a single-engine UAV capable of staying airborne for up to 30 hours with a payload capacity of 350 kilograms. Aksungur, a twin-engine drone, can operate for over 50 hours and carry up to 750 kilograms of payload. Both UAVs utilize turbodiesel aviation engines.
Anka is primarily equipped with Roketsan's MAM-L munitions, while Aksungur can deploy heavier weapon systems such as Teber, KGK, and Kuzgun precision-guided munitions.
Anka recently demonstrated its capability by successfully launching the Lumtas anti-tank missile.

Uzbekistan is the latest nation to incorporate Anka into its defense inventory, following Algeria, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Chad.
While Uzbekistan has confirmed its procurement, no official details have been disclosed regarding the exact number of drones purchased or the contract’s financial terms.
