A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of southeastern Taiwan on Tuesday, the island's weather bureau said, according to local media.
Taiwan's Central Weather Administration (CWA) said the tremor hit at 3:00 p.m. local time (07:00 a.m. GMT), local outlet Focus Taiwan reported.
The agency added there were "no immediate reports of damage or injuries" following the earthquake.
According to the CWA, the epicenter was located at sea, some 48 kilometers (29.8 miles) east-southeast of Taitung County Hall. Taitung County sits on Taiwan's southeastern coast.
