Eric Trump, son of U.S. President Donald Trump, said he would not rule out a future presidential run, while his father announced that mail-in and early voting methods will no longer be used in future elections to prevent voter fraud.

Eric Trump hints at possible presidential bid

In an interview with Israel’s Channel 13 television network, Eric Trump said he might consider running for president in the coming years. Speaking during a promotional appearance for his new memoir Under Siege, he said, “You never know. Never, ever, ever say no to anything.”

When asked whether he could see himself pursuing the presidency after his father leaves office in 2029, he added, “I think I could do it if I choose to, but we’ll just see what happens.”

Eric Trump’s comments come amid his father’s ongoing efforts to consolidate political influence within the Republican Party ahead of the next election cycle.

Donald Trump announces end to mail-in and early voting

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump announced that future elections in the United States will no longer use mail-in or early voting methods. He said the change aims to prevent voter fraud and ensure election integrity.

Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump argued that some election practices in the U.S. are “unfair” and accused California authorities of running a “fraudulent” redistricting process. “No mail-in or early voting, yes to voter ID,” he declared.

Trump compared alleged election irregularities to the NBA’s illegal betting scandal, saying, “What happened in the 2020 presidential election was a bigger event than the NBA scandal.”

He again claimed Democrats engaged in fraud during the 2020 election and reiterated his assertion that votes were stolen.

'We now know everything'

“We now know everything,” Trump said, urging the Department of Justice to take action. “I hope the Department of Justice will take up this issue with the enthusiasm it deserves as the biggest scandal in American history. Otherwise, the same thing will happen again in the upcoming midterm elections,” he warned.

The president emphasized that his proposed reforms, eliminating mail-in and early voting, are essential to restore public trust in the electoral system. He has also pledged to remove electronic voting machines and make voter ID mandatory nationwide.

Justice department response

The U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday that it will deploy election observers to five counties in California, describing the step as part of its efforts to “ensure transparency, ballot security, and compliance with federal law.”

A family continuing its political legacy

As Donald Trump continues to push for changes in the U.S. electoral process, Eric Trump’s remarks suggest that the Trump family’s political influence could extend well beyond the current presidency.

While no formal decision has been made, Eric Trump’s comments have fueled speculation about a possible second-generation Trump candidacy in the years ahead.
