Gaza reels under nearly 10,000 missing or trapped, thousands lost to Israeli attacks
A total of 14,944 children and 9,849 women have lost their lives in attacks carried out by the Israeli army
According to local authorities in the Gaza Strip, nearly 10,000 individuals are either missing or trapped under rubble following Israeli attacks since October 7th last year.
The government media office in Gaza reported that the Israeli army has been responsible for “3,070 massacres” in the Gaza Strip since October 7th.
The statement highlighted that a total of 14,944 children and 9,849 women have lost their lives in the attacks, with the overall death toll for Palestinians in Gaza reaching 34,622. Additionally, 77,867 individuals have been hospitalized due to injuries sustained.
An alarming 72% of those affected by Israeli attacks in Gaza are reported to be women and children. Tragically, approximately 30 children have died due to malnutrition and fluid loss in the blockaded territory.
The statement revealed that over 75,000 tons of explosives have been utilized by the Israeli army since the onset of the offensive, resulting in the deaths of 492 healthcare workers and 68 civil defense personnel. Furthermore, the bodies of 471 Palestinians have been discovered in 6 mass graves within raided hospitals.
It was noted that nearly 11,000 critically injured individuals require treatment abroad, while 10,000 cancer patients are at risk of losing their lives due to inadequate healthcare facilities. Doctors have diagnosed over 1.095 million cases of infectious diseases and more than 20,000 cases of Hepatitis A.
Approximately 60,000 pregnant women and 350,000 individuals with chronic diseases are in jeopardy due to a lack of healthcare resources.
Since the initiation of the Israeli army’s attacks, over 5,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been detained. Notably, 310 healthcare workers and 20 journalists are among those detained, and a staggering 2 million out of Gaza’s 2.3 million population have been displaced.
The statement concluded by stating that Israel’s assaults have resulted in a direct economic loss of $33 billion in the Gaza Strip.
