Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a former ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, warned Sunday that sending U.S. troops into Iran would trigger a “political revolution in America.”

Greene, who stepped down from Congress after falling out with Trump, made the remarks in a post on X as reports said the U.S. and Israel were making the most intense preparations for renewed attacks on Iran since a cease-fire was agreed last month.

“If you send in U.S. military troops into Iran, there is going to be a political revolution in America,” Greene said.

Greene says ‘no more foreign wars’

Greene said the coalition opposing new foreign wars would unite if U.S. troops were sent into Iran.

“WE. ARE. DONE,” she said. “We said no more foreign wars and we meant it.”

“The coalition will unite and be unstoppable. I’ll make sure of it,” she added.

“End this war. It’s stupid,” Greene said.

Greene is seen as a major voice in Trump’s MAGA movement, elements of which are unhappy with the war in Iran. Trump had promised not to involve the U.S. in further “forever wars” like Iraq and Afghanistan.

Greene has also previously criticized Trump’s approach to the Iran war, questioning his “mental state” shortly after it began.

“I want to say, what is happening to the man that I supported, you supported, the man that denounced what happened in Iraq, the man that said ‘No more foreign wars,’ ‘No more regime change?’” Greene told conservative commentator Megyn Kelly earlier this year.

She added that Trump, Vice President JD Vance and Tulsi Gabbard had all promised that position during the campaign.

Trump says clock is ticking for Iran

Greene’s remarks came as peace negotiations between Washington and Tehran appeared to be at an impasse.

On Sunday, Trump warned Iran on Truth Social that the “clock is ticking.”

“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE,” Trump said.

Trump last week rejected Iran’s latest response to the White House’s peace proposal, calling it “totally unacceptable” after Tehran requested that nuclear talks be separated from peace negotiations.

Greene, who was once one of Trump’s biggest supporters, also fell out with him over the handling of the Epstein files.

She criticized Trump in her announcement last year that she was leaving Congress.
