Recent claims by U.S. President Donald Trump that his administration sent $60 million in food aid to Gaza are false, with actual transfers totaling just $3 million, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The report, based on the U.S. State Department records and local sources, states that the amount transferred to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)—a U.S.- and Israel-linked entity—was far less than what Trump publicly announced.
While Trump repeatedly said, “We sent $60 million to Gaza, and nobody thanked us,” U.S. officials clarified that the actual authorized amount was $30 million.
However, only 10% of that—roughly $3 million—has been disbursed so far, the report highlights. The State Department has reportedly issued two corrections to Trump’s initial remarks, confirming that the $60 million figure is inaccurate.
Despite international pledges, Gaza continues to suffer severe humanitarian shortages due to Israel’s ongoing blockade and military operations.
Medical and food supplies remain dangerously low, and aid deliveries are minimal compared to the growing needs of over 2 million residents.
