Türkiye delivers humanitarian aid to 85 countries across five continents

Türkiye has delivered humanitarian assistance to 85 countries and communities across five continents through operations coordinated by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, or AFAD, under the Interior Ministry.

AFAD carries out international search and rescue missions and humanitarian assistance activities alongside its domestic operations as part of Türkiye’s disaster diplomacy efforts.

Under the agency’s coordination, Türkiye has provided food, shelter, medical supplies, essential living materials, financial assistance, logistical support, and search and rescue equipment.

Gaza receives 109,332 tons of humanitarian aid

One of Türkiye’s largest international humanitarian operations was conducted for Gaza, according to information compiled by Anadolu.

Türkiye delivered 109,332 tons of humanitarian supplies to areas affected by Israeli attacks using 14 aircraft and 21 ships under AFAD’s coordination.

A total of $7.5 million was also donated, including $7 million from AFAD and $500,000 from the Turkish Red Crescent.

Aid sent to Afghanistan, Sudan and other countries

Türkiye sent 11,739 tons of humanitarian supplies to Afghanistan through 25 Kindness Train journeys. Six cargo flights were also organized for the country.

Sudan received 10,206 tons of humanitarian aid and 30,000 tents transported by six ships.

Türkiye also delivered 9,079 tons of assistance to Pakistan, 3,000 tons to Somalia, and 730 tons to Lebanon.

Bangladesh received 64,992 humanitarian aid packages.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was provided with 60 container homes, as well as fuel, hygiene supplies, generators, and essential living materials.

A total of 13,938 trucks carrying humanitarian aid have been sent to Syria.

Zambia received assistance worth $25,000 and 600 food packages. Türkiye also provided $54,070 in aid to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and $60,000 to Burundi.

Military aircraft deliver emergency supplies to Venezuela

One of Türkiye’s most recent international humanitarian operations was conducted for Venezuela following two earthquakes measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 in June.

On the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, humanitarian supplies were delivered aboard two military cargo aircraft under AFAD’s coordination.

The shipment included 275 tents supplied by AFAD and seven tons of medical supplies provided by the Health Ministry.

A total of 30 tons of humanitarian aid materials were delivered to Venezuela.

Türkiye supports flood recovery in Spain

Türkiye also assisted in Spain following flooding in the country.

The aid included 250 plastic waste containers, each with a capacity of 1,100 liters, or 290.6 gallons, and two road-cleaning vehicles.
