Türkiye’s Consulate General in Strasbourg has issued a travel advisory for Turkish citizens planning to travel to France for tourism purposes, warning visitors to take additional precautions during their stay.
The advisory was shared via a statement published on the X social media platform by the consulate.
According to the statement, Turkish citizens traveling to France are advised to carry photocopies of their passports at all times.
The consulate also urged travelers to remain vigilant in crowded areas, noting the risk of pickpocketing, particularly in popular tourist locations.
Visitors were further advised not to carry large amounts of cash and to take steps to safeguard their personal belongings while moving through busy public spaces.
The consulate also issued warnings related to financial security, recommending that travelers disable contactless payment features on their credit cards.
In addition, citizens were advised to turn off online shopping functions to reduce the risk of unauthorized transactions.
The statement noted that Turkish citizens in France can contact the Consulate General in Strasbourg or reach the Consular Call Center in case of emergencies or if assistance is needed during their visit.
