The US Department of the Treasury updated its sanctions list Friday, removing a Russian-linked vessel from its blacklist while expanding designations tied to a Mexican resort allegedly connected to a drug cartel.

The Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) removed the Astra, a Vietnam-flagged chemical and oil tanker that had been sanctioned under Russia-related executive orders.

The vessel had been linked to Sao Viet Petrol Transportation Company Limited. OFAC did not explain the delisting.

In a separate action, OFAC added three new aliases to Kovay Gardens, a short-term accommodation business located in La Cruz de Huanacaxtle in the Mexican state of Nayarit.

The property is now also identified as Marina Oasis Beachfront Resort, Navira Villas & Residences, and Vallarta Gardens.

According to the Treasury Department, the property remains designated for alleged links to the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion under U.S. counter-narcotics and counter-terrorism executive orders.
