Alexandru Coita

Dr. Alexandru Coita is the CEO of GANES Strategy, a Bucharest-based geopolitical risk and strategic advisory firm specializing in sovereign risk, energy security, government affairs, and market entry across Romania, the Black Sea region, and Southeast Europe. He previously served as Secretary of State for Transport of Romania, Honorary Adviser to the Prime Minister of Romania, and Special Adviser to the Minister for European Affairs. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Security and a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in Washington, D.C. His work focuses on Black Sea geopolitics, transatlantic relations, European security, strategic infrastructure, and the intersection of geopolitics, energy, and economic competitiveness. Through the Ganes Strategy, he advises international companies, investors, and public institutions on sovereign risk, strategic positioning, and market access across Romania and the wider Black Sea region.
