UAE's state-run Emirates Airlines halted all scheduled passenger flights to and from Dubai through 11:59 p.m. UAE time on March 4 due to airspace closures across the region, the carrier said in a statement.
Despite the suspension, the airline operated a limited number of repatriation passenger flights and cargo services on March 3 and 4. The company said it prioritized customers who had earlier bookings when assigning seats on those flights.
Passengers were told not to travel to the airport unless they received direct notification from Emirates or held confirmed bookings for the limited services still running. The carrier said it continued to track the situation and would adjust its flight schedule as conditions evolve.
Travelers were urged to check the airline’s official flight status page and website for updates and to review email notifications about cancellations or changes before heading to the airport..
Iran’s retaliatory missile and drone attacks across the Middle East continued on Tuesday, with the United Arab Emirates among the countries hit hardest in the latest wave.
Earlier strikes left three people dead in Dubai and caused fires and damage to infrastructure, according to local reports. Most recently, UAE authorities said a fire broke out at Fujairah Port and in the Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) after debris from an intercepted Iranian drone fell in the area.
Civil defense teams in Fujairah were working to bring the blaze under control, and no injuries or additional casualties were reported.
