Izmir-based AI-focused technology company HubX has become Türkiye's eighth unicorn after agreeing to receive up to $75 million from U.S.-based Point72 Private Investments at a $1.2 billion pre-money valuation.
The deal, announced Friday, includes an initial $50 million investment and an option for an additional $25 million, marking HubX's first external funding since its founding in 2022.
The company had previously grown without outside capital, relying on its own operations as it expanded.
HubX joins mobile game developers Peak Games, Dream Games and Loom Games; on-demand delivery platform Getir, e-commerce companies Trendyol and Hepsiburada, and AI-powered customer engagement platform Insider as Türkiye's eighth billion-dollar technology company.
In a statement carried out by state-run Anadolu Agency, the Industry and Technology Ministry pointed out that it has launched the Turcorn 100 Program in 2022 to help technology startups from Türkiye reach valuations above $1 billion.
Companies selected for the program receive mentoring, access to financial resources, participation in national and international accelerator programs, support for developing corporate partnerships and assistance with international expansion, the ministry said.
The number of startups in the program's candidate pool reached 43 in the first half of the year, up from 23 in March 2025, nearly doubling over 15 months.
The government aims to have 100 Turcorns by 2030, raise the number of technology startups in Türkiye to 100,000, and increase the combined valuation of Turcorns to more than $100 billion.
HubX plans to use the new capital to expand its existing portfolio while stepping up acquisitions and strategic partnerships with consumer mobile and web companies around the world, the company said in a statement.
The company will focus on acquiring established products and teams while continuing to grow its own lineup. It also plans to invest further in its products, strengthen its technology infrastructure and expand its artificial intelligence capabilities through its AI Lab.
Since its founding in 2022, HubX has grown to more than 370 employees across Izmir and Istanbul.
The company has developed more than 40 mobile and web products, including AI assistant Nova, learning app Wiser, AI art app DaVinci and wellness platform Lotus Flow, with its portfolio reaching more than 600 million users across more than 190 countries.
