Türkiye’s flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, completed its longest nonstop flight after a Boeing 777-300ER carried Italian soccer club Juventus from Perth, Australia, to Turin, Italy.
The aircraft, registered as TC-LJE, covered about 13,800 kilometers (8,574.92 miles) without a stop, according to flight-tracking website Flightradar24. The journey took approximately 16 hours and 27 minutes after the aircraft departed Perth.
The charter flight came after Juventus completed the Australian leg of its 2026 Bianconeri Summer Tour.
The club was based in Perth from Aug. 6 to 11 and played two friendlies there, facing Inter at Optus Stadium on Aug. 8 before taking on Palermo at HBF Stadium on Aug. 11.
Before picking up the Juventus delegation, the same TC-LJE aircraft flew from Istanbul to Perth as flight TK3700, completing the positioning flight in about 14 hours and 30 minutes.
Turkish Airlines has expanded its presence in Australia since launching its first service to Sydney in 2024.
The carrier currently connects Istanbul with Sydney and Melbourne through intermediate stops, with Sydney services operating via Kuala Lumpur and Melbourne services via Singapore.
From Oct. 26, 2026, the Istanbul-Sydney service is scheduled to operate via Singapore instead of Kuala Lumpur, with five weekly flights planned on Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
Turkish Airlines will continue to operate a separate three-times-weekly Istanbul-Singapore-Melbourne service using the same aircraft type.
