Turkish low-cost carrier AJet has launched direct flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport to Beirut, marking its latest expansion in the region.
The first direct flight from Istanbul to the Lebanese capital took place on Tuesday and was welcomed with a ceremony at Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport.
AJet previously operated flights to Beirut from Ankara and Adana.
With the new route, the airline will now offer daily reciprocal flights between Istanbul and Beirut.
The carrier said the Istanbul–Beirut line strengthens its growing network across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa.
The new connection is also expected to contribute to the development of tourism and trade potential between Türkiye and Lebanon.
