Türkiye’s capital markets closed 2025 with a total asset value of ₺28.96 trillion ($732.3 billion), up from ₺20.70 trillion at the beginning of the year, according to data from the Central Securities Depository.
The total number of registered investors in Türkiye rose from 36.21 million in January 2024 to 37.94 million by year-end 2025. Of these, 10.64 million were classified as active investors, meaning they held a balance in their investment accounts.
The number of total investment accounts also rose to 90.14 million, with 15.33 million of these being active.
Foreign investors increased their Turkish equity holdings by 28.6% in 2025. Their portfolio value rose from ₺2.11 trillion to ₺2.71 trillion ($68.5 billion), reflecting renewed interest in Turkish stocks amid an improved inflation outlook and monetary stability.
By the end of 2025, the total equity portfolio value in Türkiye stood at ₺7.47 trillion. Of this, 36.3% was held by foreign investors, while 63.7% belonged to domestic investors, including shares not in free float.
The total value of equity portfolios reached ₺17.33 trillion by the end of 2025, supported by market performance and new listings.
Investment fund portfolios also expanded, reaching ₺8.52 trillion, with 5.72 million investors participating in these instruments by the end of 2025.
In the fixed-income space, the combined portfolio value of individual and institutional investors in government domestic debt securities totaled ₺2.3 trillion.
Separately, the nominal value of debt instruments issued by 980 companies amounted to ₺1.04 trillion, including 304 companies from the real sector and 676 from other categories.
A total of 18 companies conducted initial public offerings in 2025, raising ₺43.87 billion ($1.1 billion), with 6.11 million investors participating.
