Türkiye’s Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek is set to travel to Doha to attend the Qatar Economic Forum, which will be held on Tuesday. The annual event gathers leading figures from government, business, and finance to examine shifting global economic dynamics and identify new paths for regional collaboration.
The Qatar Economic Forum, powered by Bloomberg, is the Middle East’s leading news-driven event dedicated to global business and investment. The Forum’s three-day program, curated by the Bloomberg Newsroom, spotlights the heads of state, notable ministers, and international CEOs who provide perspectives on the issues driving global boardroom conversations and money markets.
According to information shared by the ministry, Simsek will participate as a panelist in a high-level session titled “Global Growth and Geo-economics.” He will be joined by Qatar’s Finance Minister Ali Bin Ahmed Al-Kuwari and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Economy and Planning Faisal Al-Ibrahim. The panel is expected to explore topics such as the global economic outlook, national growth trends, and prospects for enhanced regional coordination.
As part of his broader engagements in Doha, Simsek will also take part in a real-sector meeting hosted by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. During this event, he will meet Qatari business leaders and discuss prospects for mutual investment and trade. The session is seen as part of Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to step up commercial ties with Gulf economies.
In addition, Simsek is scheduled to join a roundtable meeting with key representatives of Qatar’s financial sector. These discussions are likely to center on financial cooperation and long-term strategic alignment between institutions.
The minister will also hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts during his stay, sharing Türkiye’s views on the regional economic agenda.
