Türkiye’s tourism income climbed to $65.23 billion in 2025, as visitor arrivals edged past 63.9 million, according to data released Jan. 30, 2026 by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the country’s official statistics agency.
The figures showed tourism income rose 6.8% year-on-year, while the overall number of visitors increased 2.7% compared to 2024, pointing to steady gains in both spending and demand.
TurkStat data showed average spending per visitor went up to $1,008 in 2025, marking a 3.7% rise from the previous year. Average daily spending was reported at $100, indicating that visitors, on average, spent more during their stays.
In the breakdown of tourism income, package tours accounted for the largest share at 28.2%. Food and beverage spending followed at 21.1%, while international transportation made up 12.8%. A package tour generally refers to a pre-arranged bundle that can include transportation, accommodation, and other services sold together for a single price.
Most visitors came to Türkiye for travel, entertainment, and sportive and cultural activities, which together accounted for 67.7% of all visits. Visiting relatives and friends ranked second at 19.6%, and shopping followed at 5.9%, the data showed.
Alongside inbound gains, Türkiye’s tourism expenditures, which reflect spending by residents traveling abroad, rose 24% to $9.6 billion in 2025. Over the same period, the number of Turkish citizens traveling abroad increased 4.4% to 11.9 million.
