Turkish satellite operator Turksat has established satellite terminals at multiple critical locations in Syria, enabling public authorities to access fast, uninterrupted and secure connectivity.

According to information obtained by the Anadolu Agency correspondent, Türkiye's satellite operator Turksat has taken an important step to support Syria's public infrastructure.

Turksat began providing satellite-based internet access alongside television and radio broadcasting, e-Government solutions, disaster and emergency communication systems, and turnkey services for private network infrastructure in Syria.

The company's high-capacity communication infrastructure aims to increase the efficiency of public services in regions without fiber and cable networks and ensure uninterrupted communication during emergencies.

Official diplomatic meetings in Damascus

A delegation led by Turksat General Manager Ahmet Hamdi Atalay conducted a series of official contacts in Damascus to contribute to satellite communications, disaster communication and digital transformation of public services in Syria.

The delegation held separate meetings with Syrian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdul Salam Haykal, Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa, and Deputy Minister of Emergency and Disaster Hussam Ahmed al-Halak.

Following negotiations between officials of both countries, it was decided that Turksat would work as the leading institution in Syria's communication infrastructure and digital transformation. As a result of diplomatic and technical discussions, Ka-Band satellite internet service for public institutions in Syria was implemented by Turksat.

Using primarily the Turksat 5B satellite, Ka-Band high-capacity internet connections provided accessibility to digital public services in regions experiencing infrastructure shortages.

Within the framework of work carried out to ensure the sustainability of digital public services in regions with limited infrastructure access, public authorities gained fast, uninterrupted and secure connectivity through satellite terminals installed at many critical points in Syria.

Turksat has started providing satellite-based internet access alongside television and radio broadcasting, e-Government solutions, disaster and emergency communication systems, and turnkey services for private network infrastructure in Syria.

The company announced plans to continue expanding satellite terminal deployments throughout Syria in the coming months to further enhance communication capabilities.
