UAE-listed MAIR Group is set to acquire a 70% stake in Eslab, the owner of Turkish specialty coffee chain Espressolab, the company announced. According to a disclosure earlier this week, Eslab’s Turkish founders and existing shareholders will retain the remaining 30% stake and continue to support the business through its next phase of growth.
The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals in the relevant jurisdictions, while financial details were not disclosed.
Founded in 2014, Espressolab has grown into a Turkish-origin specialty coffee brand with a predominantly franchise-led network.
As of August 2026, the chain operates more than 400 coffee shops across 21 countries, including more than 310 locations in more than 50 Turkish cities.
Eslab’s operations extend beyond its coffee shops to brand management, franchising, coffee sourcing and roasting, product supply, retail and digital channels, the UAE-based group highlighted.
The broader business model covers multiple stages of the coffee supply and retail chain, giving the company operations beyond its physical outlets, MAIR added.
Esat Kocadag, CEO of Espressolab, called the partnership an important step in the brand’s international expansion.
"Together, we look forward to strengthening our franchise network, investing in the brand and customer experience, and expanding across existing and new markets while preserving the identity and entrepreneurial culture that define Espressolab," Kocadag said.
MAIR Group was formed from the Abu Dhabi Cooperative Society and listed directly on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in December 2024.
Its portfolio includes grocery retailers such as ADCOOP and SPAR, as well as commercial real estate operations through its Makani business.
The group described the Espressolab deal as part of its strategy to diversify its investments and add an international consumer platform to its portfolio.
Nehayan Hamad Alameri, managing director and group CEO of MAIR Group, said the acquisition broadens the company’s portfolio beyond its core UAE retail and commercial real estate businesses.
He pointed to potential synergies between Espressolab’s international reach and brand capabilities and MAIR Group’s investment and organizational strengths.
"We look forward to partnering with Espressolab’s founders and management team to support its continued growth across Türkiye and international markets, while creating long-term value for our shareholders," Alameri said.
