Social media platform X experiences a global outage on Thursday, with users across multiple regions reporting widespread access issues, failed logins, and disruptions to core features.
The scale of the disruption suggests a system-wide issue rather than isolated technical faults, as multiple core functions appear to be affected at the same time.
Crash reports submitted from the United States on monitoring platform Downdetector reached 30,000, with 66% of complaints tied to feed and timeline issues, while 18% related to the application and 9% to website access.
The outage began at 06:45 a.m. GMT and ended at 07:30 a.m. GMT, as the number of complaints eased, according to the platform.
Outages affecting major social media services often lead to rapid spikes in user reports, especially when core functions such as content feeds become inaccessible.
X’s engineering team has not yet provided any explanation or update on the issue.
A similar incident occurred in November 2025, when a Cloudflare network issue triggered widespread outages across platforms, including Amazon, X, Spotify, and ChatGPT, affecting users globally.
