Pianist Dengin Ceyhan and violinist Anna Miadzvedzeva performed at the Candela Concert, held at Beyoglu Sahne—a performance venue in Istanbul's Beyoglu district on the city's European side, known as a hub for arts and nightlife.
The event combined the two musicians' live performance with an aerial dance routine by Yagmur Cantekin, who performed above the stage during Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi's piece "Experience."
The program spanned more than a decade of compositions across genres. Selections included Dmitri Shostakovich's "Waltz," Franz Schubert's "Serenade" and Karl Jenkins' "Palladio."
Tango pieces featured prominently, with Carlos Gardel's "Por Una Cabeza" and Astor Piazzolla's "Libertango" performed alongside Rolf Lovland's "Song From A Secret Garden" and "Adagio."
The set also included Nino Rota's theme from "Romeo & Juliet," Johannes Brahms' "Hungarian Dance No. 5," Vittorio Monti's "Czardas" and Claude Francois' "My Way," closing the evening on a widely recognized standard.
Candela Concert is a Türkiye-based touring concert series that stages classical music performances lit by thousands of candles, combining the format with visual arts and stage choreography.
The series has performed in multiple Turkish cities, including Ankara and Sanliurfa, in addition to Istanbul.
Following the Istanbul date, Candela Concert is set to continue its tour to additional cities across Türkiye, maintaining its format of pairing a curated classical and cinematic repertoire with candlelit staging and visual performance elements.
