Konstantinos Argiros, an internationally recognized name in Greek music, performed his best-loved songs at a concert in Ankara, the Turkish capital. The event was held at ATO Congresium in cooperation with Epifoni and Sinkron Yonetim.
In an interview, Argiros said: “Every time I come to Türkiye, I am met with great love. I thank Turkish music lovers very much for that.”
Recalling that last summer’s joint concert with Turkish singer Sila made a splash, Argiros said he is open to new collaborations with Turkish artists.
Stressing that his bond with Turkish music goes back a long way, the artist said: “I love Turkish music very much. I have listened to it and followed it closely since my childhood.''
''When I return to Athens, I will start working on new projects and songs. There will definitely be new collaborations in the future. Why not? We could release a song together with Sila again, or I could join forces with other Turkish musicians. Listeners should stay tuned,” he emphasized.
Drawing attention to the similarities between the music of the two countries, Argiros said, “There are definitely shared pieces and common tones in Turkish and Greek music. I love researching the depths of history and traditions. The music of both countries is rooted in tradition.''
''That is why I think the tones are the same. Personally, I also love searching through old, traditional music, using old melodies and blending them with today’s modern energy,” he added.
Saying he listens to many musicians in Türkiye, the artist added: “I would like to say that I admire Ibrahim Tatlises’ voice and his singing performance. There are many more Turkish artists from the past that I enjoy listening to and who have stayed in my memory.” Tatlises is a veteran Turkish singer and actor.
