Turkish actor Engin Altan Duzyatan has taken on the lead role in "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs," an international film project directed by Huseyin Eken.

The H2 Medya production is scheduled to start in February and is being developed to reach international film festivals. Eken will also produce the film alongside Duygu Yonucu.

Intersecting lives shape story of humanity

The film centers on the intersecting lives of Reha, a psychologist played by Duzyatan, and Ahmed Musa from Gaza.

Through their shared story, the production will take up universal themes of humanity within a psychological framework. Several prominent and veteran Middle Eastern actors are also expected to join Duzyatan in the cast.

Award brings early recognition to project

The film has already picked up international recognition during its development stage, winning the Project Development Award at the TRT 12 Punto Awards.

The competition's jury was chaired by two-time Oscar-winning Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi. Speaking during the closing ceremony, Farhadi expressed his interest in seeing the completed film, highlighting its engagement with human psychology and Middle Eastern realities as well as its cinematographic potential.
