Hollywood’s rising talent Alexander Uloom has officially joined the cast of "Mehmed: Fetihler Sultani," a historical drama broadcast on Türkiye’s national channel TRT 1.
The series portrays the life and campaigns of Sultan Mehmed II, known in the West as Mehmed the Conqueror, who captured Constantinople in 1453.
Born in Iraq in 1986, Uloom grew up in the United States and first gained recognition as a model in international advertising campaigns.
His transition to acting led him to roles in television dramas, most notably the 2021 production Surrogate Mother.
His career has since gained momentum across both Middle Eastern and Western productions.
Producers at Miray Yapim, the company behind Mehmed: Fetihler Sultani, have already brought in notable actors such as Syrian star Ghassan Mesud and Spanish actor Luca Peros.
They have now confirmed that Uloom will appear in the series as Khalid ibn al-Walid, one of the most celebrated commanders in early Islamic history, often referred to as the “Sword of Allah.”
Alongside his Turkish role, Uloom has also been cast in House of David, a Prime Video series exploring stories from biblical times.
His growing international presence underlines his appeal to both Middle Eastern and Western audiences.
Uloom married Iraqi pop singer Rahma Riyad on Aug. 7, 2021. The wedding, attended by family and close friends, attracted wide media attention in the Arab world.
The next episode of "Mehmed: Fetihler Sultani" will air on Tuesday, September 16, at 8:00 p.m. local time on TRT 1.
