The Türkiye Culture Route Festival, a nationwide series of cultural events organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has arrived in Erzurum, offering a rich program of concerts, exhibitions, talks and theater.
Launched to strengthen Türkiye’s cultural identity and promote its global brand value, the festival travels through different cities, with Erzurum serving as the ninth destination.
Each stop combines local traditions with contemporary art, creating a bridge between heritage and modern creativity.
In Erzurum, activities have spread across the city center and nearby districts. At the Children’s Library, young visitors gathered around a fire for a storytelling session accompanied by music, designed to spark their imagination and connect them with cultural traditions.
Later, children were welcomed into the “Otag Tent,” a traditional nomadic-style tent rooted in Central Asian and Anatolian heritage. Storyteller Aleyna Demir Dinc brought “Traditional Turkish Tales” to life, introducing the audience to narratives passed down through generations.
Erzurum Director of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Yer highlighted the symbolic value of the Otag Tent in such events. He explained that it plays a vital role in reflecting both Central Asian and Anatolian cultural traditions.
Yer said, “Otag is very important for us. In this space, we gathered our children and shared stories and tales, keeping alive our cultural heritage and building a bridge between the past, the present, and the generations to come.”
