Galatasaray reportedly rejected a proposal to hold a concert by Turkish pop star Tarkan at RAMS Park after initially asking for €1 million ($1.15 million) to make the stadium available for the event.
According to journalist Ali Naci Kucuk, a private bank approached Galatasaray in February about organizing a Tarkan concert at RAMS Park, the Istanbul club's home stadium.
During the initial talks, Galatasaray reportedly asked for €1 million for the stadium to be used for the concert.
The amount was said to have been calculated by taking into account the costs of renewing and protecting the RAMS Park pitch during the organization.
Talks continued after the initial discussions, although the proposed event ultimately did not move forward.
According to Kucuk, Galatasaray informed the organizers around April or May that it would not approve the concert.
The decision was reportedly passed on roughly one month before the planned event date, prompting the party behind the organization to voice frustration over the timing of the response.
The proposed Tarkan concert at RAMS Park was subsequently shelved without taking place.
