World-famous American pop star Jennifer Lopez encountered an unexpected moment in Istanbul on Monday when a Chanel store denied her entry, citing the boutique was at full capacity.
According to Turkish media, during a visit to Istinye Park—one of Istanbul’s upscale shopping malls—a day before the concert, a security guard prevented Jennifer Lopez from entering the Chanel store. She reportedly responded calmly, saying, “Okay, no problem,” and walked away without reaction.
The store staff later approached her with an invitation to enter, but Lopez declined, business-focused patronlardunyasi.com reported.
Despite the Chanel incident, the singer spent nearly three hours browsing high-end fashion at neighboring Celine and Beymen stores. According to sources familiar with the visit, she made purchases totaling tens of thousands of dollars.
Lopez’s Istanbul concert is expected to be one of the largest productions in Türkiye this year. The stage, designed specifically for this event, takes inspiration from Istanbul’s historic seven hills and was manufactured entirely in Türkiye. Measuring 72 meters in length, the structure was assembled using materials transported by 70 trucks.
A technical crew of 187 people worked on the stage setup, which includes 800 lights, 184 speakers, and a massive LED screen with 20,000-pixel resolution. A separate team of 1,500 staff members is tasked with ensuring smooth execution of the event.
The Istanbul leg of the “Up All Night: Live in 2025” tour is expected to attract audiences from across Türkiye and neighboring countries. Organizers say tickets for the concert have nearly sold out.
