Marvel Studios has reportedly settled on Kit Connor to play Scott Summers (Cyclops) in its upcoming X-Men reboot, according to Deadline. Director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige considered several candidates for the role before landing on the British actor, the outlet reports.
This marks the first solo "X-Men" film since Disney's 2019 acquisition of 21st Century Fox. Disney, which owns Marvel Studios, began tapping into the mutant comic book roster on the big screen with 2024's blockbuster "Deadpool & Wolverine" and 2025's "The Fantastic Four: First Steps."
Cyclops, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, is a founding member and one of the leaders of the X-Men.
He relies on special eyewear, typically goggles or glasses, to keep his optic energy blasts in check.

James Marsden originated the role in Fox's original "X-Men" trilogy (2000, 2003, 2006) and reprised it in the 2014 crossover "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Tye Sheridan later took on a younger version of the character in "X-Men: Apocalypse" (2016) and "Dark Phoenix" (2019).
Several mutants from the earlier 20th Century Fox films are set to return in this December's "Avengers: Doomsday," with Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Rebecca Romijn and James Marsden reprising their roles as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique and Cyclops, respectively.
They will join forces with the Avengers and heroes from other universes to take on the formidable Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Following "Doomsday," Marvel is anticipated to relaunch the mutant franchise with a fresh, younger lineup. Sadie Sink has already signed on to portray Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a role previously played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner in earlier films.
Sink, known for her work in "Stranger Things," first appeared as the formidable telepath in this summer's hit "Spider-Man: Brand New Day."
Marvel hasn't revealed when or where Sink's character will next appear on screen.
