Spiritual atmosphere keeps drawing visitors to Konya

Konya Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Fikret Fidan said the museum holds strong potential for history, culture and religious tourism.

He said Mevlana's well-known call, "Come, come, whoever you are," continues to bring visitors from many countries to Konya, while the museum remains a key point on Türkiye's cultural and faith routes.

According to Fidan, the latest figures announced by the Culture and Tourism Ministry show that visitor numbers at museums and archaeological sites across Türkiye have reached record levels.

Officials expect stronger numbers by year-end

Fidan said the museum received nearly 1.5 million local and foreign visitors in the first six months of 2026, up from around 1.3 million in the same period last year.

He added that the number of visitors is expected to rise further in the second half of the year, especially with events planned in Konya.

Fidan said officials estimate that Mevlana Museum could reach 3.5 million to 4 million visitors by the end of the year through events held in the city.

He also invited local and foreign tourists who want to experience the museum's spiritual atmosphere in person to visit Konya.
