Olivia Rodrigo and Chappell Roan are teaming up on a remix of Rodrigo's song "Expectations," with a music video, the singer announced Tuesday.
"Expectations" is the 12th track on Rodrigo's third album, "You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love."
Rumors of a remix began circulating Sunday after a German retailer briefly listed the single for sale before taking it down.
On Monday, Rodrigo posted an audio clip to her Instagram story of a voice saying, " Olivia does remixes now." Some fans suspected the voice was Roan's.
Roan opened for Rodrigo on both her "Sour" and "Guts" tours. They have also worked with the same producer, Dan Nigro, and have each won the Grammy for best new artist.
Roan most recently joined Rodrigo at the Daisy Chain Fields Festival, held in Irvine, California, in late August. Rodrigo curated the all-female lineup for the inaugural event, which included Doechii, Mitski, Garbage and the Breeders. Roan performed just before Rodrigo’s headlining set, which featured guest appearances from Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette and Stevie Nicks.
The festival raised $10 million, which philanthropist Melinda French Gates matched for a total of $20 million.
