Digital artist and academic Professor Selcuk Artut's "Geomart-ut-sc 4" will meet audiences during the 21st edition of Contemporary Istanbul, where the work will be shown from Sept. 23 to 27 as part of the international contemporary art fair's program.
The work will be displayed at the Izaka Lounge in Hall B at Contemporary Istanbul, while visitors will also be able to see it at Izaka Terrace, located on the terrace floor of the CVK Park Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul's Gumussuyu district.
"Geomart-ut-sc 4" grows out of Artut's long-running artistic research into creative coding, algorithmic production and geometric systems.
Bringing together mathematical rules, cultural references and computer-assisted production processes, the work uses a generative art approach, in which digital systems and algorithms play a role in shaping the visual outcome.
Through this process, Artut reinterprets geometric systems using digital technologies while focusing on the relationship between mathematics, algorithms and visual art.
During Contemporary Istanbul, the work can be seen at Hall B, Izaka Lounge between Sept. 23 and 27.
Following the fair, "Geomart-ut-sc 4" will remain on display at Izaka Terrace for six months.
