Türkiye’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has announced that a “Troy” themed exhibition will be staged in Rome in 2026 in cooperation with Italy, marking the next step in a cultural partnership that has recently included major shows at the Colosseum.
According to a statement shared on the social media account of the General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, the planned exhibition follows last year’s “Gobeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Place” exhibition at the Colosseum and this year’s “Magna Mater” exhibition, with officials saying the cooperation between Türkiye and Italy is being carried forward.
The statement said the decision to hold the Troy-themed exhibition in Rome was finalized after bilateral talks, and that a declaration of intent was signed to help put the exhibition into action.
Signatories were named as Birol Incecikoz, the head of Türkiye’s General Directorate of Cultural Assets and Museums, Alfonsina Russo, Director for the Enhancement of Cultural Heritage at Italy’s Ministry of Culture, and Simone Quilici, Director of the Colosseum Archaeological Park.
In the ministry’s words, the exhibition will focus on Troy, described as “one of history’s most powerful epics,” and is being prepared to meet visitors in Rome in 2026.
“This important cooperation” includes continued efforts to promote cultural assets to global audiences, the statement added, underlining that work is being pursued with determination.
