Serif Yenen's three-volume cultural guide, "Turkish Odyssey: A Cultural Guide to Türkiye," has received several international awards in the United States.
The work, written by the guide, researcher, and author Serif Yenen, was recognized in the travel category at the 2026 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. It was also named "Silver Winner" in the travel category at the 2026 International Book Awards, after previously receiving the "Gold Winner" title in the travel category at the 2025 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Awards.
The three-volume book describes Türkiye not only as a travel destination but also as a country shaped by historical depth, cultural continuity, civilizational heritage and human stories.
According to the statement, the book brings together Yenen's nearly 40 years of on-field experience as a guide and researcher. It is also used today as a course and reference book in many tourism faculties in Türkiye.
Before its latest international awards, "Turkish Odyssey" was also honored at the 2025 Skalite Tourism Quality Awards, where it was named the best tourism publication of the year. Skalite is a Türkiye-based tourism award program focused on quality in the sector.
Yenen said the international awards would help raise the visibility of Türkiye's cultural heritage. He also noted that the recognition could support the book's access to a broader readership, encourage new editions in different countries and strengthen international distribution opportunities.
