Sebnem Ferah, one of Türkiye’s most influential rock singers, has triggered a major ticket rush after announcing her first Istanbul concert in years.

Online queues reportedly reached well above 100,000 people, and tickets sold out within minutes.

The concert, scheduled for June 3, 2026, at KucukCiftlik Park in Istanbul, marks Ferah’s long-awaited return to the stage after a break that began around the pandemic period.

For many Turkish listeners, the return carries unusual weight.

Sebnem Ferah is widely regarded as one of the strongest female voices in Turkish rock, known for her powerful vocals, emotionally direct lyrics, and a career that helped shape the country’s mainstream rock scene.

Six-year wait ends

Sebnem Ferah announced the concert on social media on May 4, sharing the date “03.06.2026 Istanbul” and a short message to fans.

“No matter what I write here, it will not be enough to describe my excitement; something will remain missing. So I am keeping it short. I will be counting down the days until we meet. See you,” she wrote.

The announcement immediately drew attention from fans and well-known names in Türkiye’s music and entertainment scene. Singers and actors, including Murat Boz, Aleyna Tilki, Derya Ulug, Merve Ozbey, Gonca Vuslateri, and Ezgi Mola, reacted publicly to the news.

Ferah had remained largely away from the stage even after Türkiye’s concert industry returned to normal following the pandemic.

Her absence had also fueled speculation about new music, particularly after studio photographs circulated in previous years. Her latest album, “Parmak Izi,” was released in 2018.

Online queue passes 100,000

The scale of demand became clear when tickets went on sale on May 6. Users who managed to enter the ticketing platform saw queue numbers above 100,000.

Waiting times reached nearly two hours because of the traffic, and some users faced access problems as ticketing platforms struggled with demand.

The rush quickly moved onto social media, where fans shared screenshots of their queue numbers and complained about failing to secure tickets. The issue became a trending topic in Türkiye.

The tickets were sold out within twenty minutes. Front row tickets were priced at 3,600 ($80), while general entry started from 2,500 ($55).

The demand has already led to calls for additional dates. Sebnem Ferah could turn the event into a concert series because of the level of interest, although no additional concerts have been officially announced yet.
